The data is from SOLAR HEAT WORLDWIDE REPORT.
Although there are only 2020 data from 20 major countries, the report includes 2019 data of 68 countries with many details.
By the end of 2019, the top 10 countries in total solar collection area are China, Turkey, the United States, Germany, Brazil, India, Australia, Austria, Greece and Israel. However, when comparing per capita data, the situation is significantly different. The top 10 countries per 1000 inhabitants are Barbados, Cyprus, Austria, Israel, Greece, the Palestinian territories, Australia, China, Denmark and Turkey.
Vacuum tube collector is the most important solar heat collector technology, accounting for 61.9% of the newly installed capacity in 2019, followed by flat plate solar collector, accounting for 32.5%. In the global context, this segmentation is mainly driven by the dominant position of the Chinese market. In 2019, about 75.2% of all newly installed solar collectors were vacuum tube collectors.
However, the global share of vacuum tube collectors decreased from about 82% in 2011 to 61.9% in 2019
At the same time, the market share of flat plate collector increased from 14.7% to 32.5%.
